TM Event File - Amended 18 November 2011
Important Information for Participating Clubs
There have been some important changes to the meet program for the ‘2011 West Coast D’Orsogna Cup’, which are a direct result of the overwhelming number of entries received by the event organisers.
West Coast Swimming Club has consulted with key stakeholders Swimming WA and VenuesWest and it was deemed in the best interest of all competitors for some changes to be made to event program.
The event order is essentially the same, although the event numbers have change. It is now proposed to commence warm-ups from 7am with competition starting at 8am.
A revised ‘event listing’ and ‘individual swimmer check list’ will be forwarded to each participating Club for review. Other important changes include:
· Both the Women’s and Men’s 1500m Freestyle events (69 & 70) will now be swum on the Friday 2nd December between 6pm and 8pm. More detailed information specific to the 1500m events has been sent to the clubs of the registered 1500m swimmers; &
· With deep regret, all Relay events have been cancelled. Relay entry fees will be refunded to all Clubs that have nominated and paid for their relay teams.
The West Coast Swimming Club offers its sincere apologies to any swimmers affected by these changes, but we are required to work as best we can within the timeline outlined in the Swimming WA sanctioned meet application.
The host Club appreciates that these changes will be far from ideal for some competitors. If registered swimmers are unable to participate because of the revised program, then please notify dorsognacupentries@iinet.net.auif you intend to scratch from events.
A Volunteer Roster has been forwarded to Swimming WA for posting on their website. Clubs will also receive their own ‘swimmer entry report’ for checking shortly. Alternatively, visit http://www.westcoastswimclub.com.au/site/news_and_events/latest_news/latest_news.php for more information about the ‘2011 West Coast D’Orsogna Cup’.
Yours Sincerely,
STEVE HILL
