Program of Events

Important Update:

Due to the large number of entries, Western Sprint has made the following changes to the day’s programme to ensure a finish time of around 6pm for the vast majority of competitors.

Racing will start at 8am not 9am, and warm up will start from 7.30am using 8 lanes in the Dive Pool. Swimmers are requested to stagger their warm ups in relation to their first event to avoid overcrowding. Doors will open no later than 07.15.
In line with SWA policy and as stated in the meet preamble in the Almanac, some 50m form stroke events have been cancelled. These are the Age 50m events numbers 9/10/11/12, 26/27/28/29, 45/46/47/48 which are not swum at Age Nationals ( note age 50m free retained ). The Open and Junior 50m form stroke events have also been retained to allow Open swimmers a last chance to qualify for Open Nationals, and Juniors a chance to get QT’s for Junior States. All monies for the cancelled events will be refunded in due course.
Given that there are 3 heats of the 1500m at the end of the programme involving less than 20 swimmers, these 2 steps will give a finish time around 6pm for the vast majority. Timekeeping for the 1500m heats will be done by families of those swimming plus Western Sprint Volunteers.
