Distances

1.25km, 2.5km, 5km & 10km

Cut-off time for 10km swimmers

The cut-off time for swimmers competing in the 10km event is 4 hours and 15 minutes.

Timing Badge & Cap Pickup

Pre-registered competitors - Timing badge & cap collection will be open between 6:00-7:30am

Late registrations - A limit of up to 20 late registrations will be accepted on the day between 6:00-7:15am

During this process competitors will have their race numbers marked on their arms by our officials.

Note: These times will be strictly adhered to. If you arrive after the respective cut-off times you will not be allowed to race.

This is a water safety issue and is taken very seriously

Water Safety

Swimming WA will have support craft and personnel on the water and on the shore. We thank our partners; Surf Life Saving WA who provide equipment and staff to help us here.

Swimsuits

To swim in a Swimming WA Open Water Swim Series event there are no restrictions on swimwear.

However if you are a Swimming WA member and wish to use your time to qualify for Nationals then you must adhere to Swimming Australia (SAL) Open Water By-Law 7 on swimwear. Please view here.

Entries close at 5:00pm Wednesday 23^rd January 2013. Late registrations will incur a fee of $20.

Recognition/Awards

The top three place getters in each age and gender category for each distance will be awarded medallions.

Spot prizes will also be presented throughout the event.

All events will be using electronic timing
Includes the Official Rottnest Chanel Rehearsal Swim (paddlers may be used)
5km & 10km times can be used for qualification in the Australian Open Water Swim Championships (members only) to be held at Lake Macquarie Newcastle, NSW on 8, 9 & 10 February 2013. Go to www.swimming.org.au

Eligible Age Groups

1.25km Minimum age: 11yrs of age on day of compeition

2.5km Minimum age: 12yrs of age on day of competition

5km Minimum age: 12yrs of age on day of competition

10km Minimum age: 13yrs of age on day of competition
