Swimming WA is currently seeking expressions of interest (EOI) for two Board Committees. Positions are being advertised to join the Board Nominations Committee and the Board Finance, Governance and Risk Committee.
Board Nominations Committee
The Board Nominations Committee has two positions available, which are for a two year term.
The Swimming WA Nominations Committee is a Board Committee that provides advice and recommendations to the Swimming WA Board. The Committee aims to oversee the Board's succession planning and renewal ensuring an appropriate balance of skills held by Directors on the Swimming WA Board.
Requirements for Members (Criteria)
Committee members will be able to demonstrate experience in some of the following:
• Knowledge and understanding of contemporary governance practices
• Previous experience as a non-executive director on a not-for-profit Board
• Understanding of Board diversity and Women in Leadership targets
• Experience and/or understanding of the role of an advisory committee
Board Finance, Governance & Risk Committee
The Finance, Governance & Risk Committee has two positions available, which are for a two year term.
The Swimming WA Finance, Governance & Risk Committee reviews and advises on all aspects of the Association’s governance processes with a focus on governance, financial performance and condition, internal accounting and financial controls, financial statements, reporting process, risk management processes and mitigation strategies and ensures fraud, corruption and misconduct prevention strategies are in place.
Requirements for Members (Criteria)
Committee members will be able to demonstrate experience in some of the following:
• Knowledge and understanding of contemporary governance practices
• Previous experience as a non-executive director on a not-for-profit Board
• Strategic and operational risk management experience; or
• Compliance and/or policy development
