North Coast Swimmers Make Waves at 2023 LEN Open Water Cup in Israel

North Coast swimmers recently made their mark in the international swimming community with an impressive performance at the 2023 LEN Open Water Cup – Leg 1 in Eilat, Israel. The athletes had flown to Cyprus a week prior for a five-day staging camp before heading to Israel for the competition.

In the Men’s 10km event held last week, Kyle Lee led the WA pack by securing an impressive 8th place finish with a time of 1:48:09.6. Jack Wilson followed closely behind in 10th place with a time of 1:48:14.0, and Robert Bonsall came in at 16th place with a time of 1:48:27.8.

The Women’s 10km event saw Chloe Truscott representing the Australian team. Truscott secured a commendable 25th place finish with a time of 2:04:59.6.

The athletes’ success was not only a testament to their hard work, but also to the dedication and guidance provided by their coach Ian Mills from North Coast Swim Club. Ian Mills, who was in Eilat as a Swimming Australia coach, has been instrumental in providing unwavering support that enabled the athletes to perform at their best and achieve their goals.

The North Coast swimmers outstanding performance at the event is sure to inspire young aspiring swimmers across the state to strive for excellence and commitment to swimming.
