02 November 2022

The Open Water Swimming (OWS) Series Round 4 is proudly presented by the City of Bunbury. The event will be held at Koombana Bay in Bunbury on Saturday, 26th of November 2022.

Swimming WA are excited to return to the Southwest Region once again and for regional locals to get involved in this great open water event. We provide distances to cater for all swimming levels from 500m up to 10km. We are proud to announce the return of the 10km Western Australian State Championships, showcasing our high performance athletes like former Australind Swimming Club and International Open Water swimmer, Kyle Lee and Rottnest Channel Swim winner, Chloe Truscott. Join us, to watch, or jump in and compete with the best in the west at Bunbury this month.

Swimming WA Events Officer, Ryan Porter says, “We are super excited to bring back our OWS Series & 10km State Championships to Bunbury for the second year in a row. Koombana Bay is the perfect spot to swim as its sheltered from south westerly winds and known for its calm waters. This provides participants with the best conditions to achieve great results and, for some, even reach those national times. We can't wait to work with the local community again to put on another outstanding event. A huge thank you to The City of Bunbury for their continued support”

Bunbury Mayor, Jaysen Miguel said that he is so proud to see this event returning to Bunbury and taking advantage of the stunning Koombana Bay area.

“The Open Water Swimming Series is yet another great event that will bring participants, supporters and spectators to our amazing City, and I encourage our community to get down to Koombana Bay to check it out,” he said.

“Congratulations to the event organisers, and good luck to everyone taking part – it will be a fantastic day”.
