Volunteer of the Month - March

14 April 2022

Swimming WA is pleased to announce that the Volunteer of the Month for March is Kerrie Cook from Northam Swimming Club.

As a highly valued Committee Member, Kerrie's official role at the club is the Volunteer Coordinator, however recently she stepped up to fulfil an additional role as the Event Coordinator where her expertise resulted in the successful delivery of the Northam Open. Kerrie was able to confirm bookings and schedule volunteers for the meet so that the day went without a hitch, handling all the little speed bumps along the way, and then presenting ideas to be implemented for an improved event next year.

Kerrie's contributions to Northam's representative team at the Country Pennants in Carnarvon did not go unnoticed; while travelling to Carnarvon, in the 11th hour, Kerrie confirmed and allocated the team's accommodation, travel arrangements, and meals. Kerrie also volunteered to be the club's COVID Marshal for the weekend, ensuring that all guidelines were followed to keep the team safe, in addition to her role as the Team Manager for the weekend.

Kerrie Cook

Kerrie acts as a constant support to all of the club's members, keeping them well informed of happenings and requirements as they occur. Kerrie is especially supportive of new members, vital in helping them to find their feet within the club, and assisting them in getting to know the sport of swimming.

Thank you and congratulations, Kerrie!

Kerrie has received a prize and will go into the running for the Swimming WA Volunteer of the Year to be awarded at the Swimming WA Awards of Excellence in 2022.
