Olympic gold medallist and EnergyAustralia GO Swim ambassador, Alicia Coutts is encouraging junior swimmers to make a splash this summer.

The five-time Olympic medallist and Australian teammates including James Magnussen, Christian Sprenger and Matthew Cowdrey will visit swim centres throughout the country this October as part of EnergyAustralia GO Swim month.

EnergyAustralia GO Swim month, is a Swimming Australia program that encourages children to get involved in swimming by promoting the skills they will learn and fun that they will have as part of a swim club.

Coutts, who started swimming at the age of seven, says EnergyAustralia is investing in the future of Australian Swimming.

“EnergyAustralia’s GO Swim Month is a great introduction to your local pool and club or a chance for existing swim club members to get together and celebrate everything they love about swimming and their club.

“Some of the fun events will include novelty races, skills sessions, parent information meetings and club BBQs. We’ll also be happy to answer any questions from the young swimmers about swimming for Australia and the London Olympic and Paralympic Games,” Coutts says.

EnergyAustralia Director, Adrian Merrick says the energy provider is proud to be supporting GO Swim month and Australia’s favourite summer pastime, swimming.

“In partnership with Swimming Australia we will seek out new and innovative opportunities for our customers, to support elite Australian swimmers to achieve their goals and promote safe and healthy swimming for Australian families,” Mr Merrick says.
