In a world first, the BHP Billiton Aquatic Super Series is a major international aquatic event managed by Swimming Australia in partnership with the Western Australian State Government (via Eventscorp and Royalties for Regions) and naming rights partner, BHP Billiton.

This annual event anchored in Perth for an initial three year term, will combine a unique festival of elite and mass participation aquatic sport and community engagement programs, headlined by the EnergyAustralia Swim Team taking on the might of their Chinese and South African counterparts. International water polo is also represented and features Australia, China and reigning Olympic Champions, Croatia. The event is the only opportunity to see both the Australian Swim and Water Polo teams compete together on home soil, right here in Perth on Friday 18 and Saturday 19 January, 2013!

The mass participation open water swim is the richest Open Water swimming event in Australia with over $100,000 of prize money up for grabs. Held in Perth’s iconic Swan River on Sunday 20 January, the event combines both elite and general public participation, whether you are swimming for fun or swimming to win, all registered participants have the chance to fundraise for their favourite charity.
