It was a successful evening for WA at the 2012 Swimming Australia Awards, held at the Melbourne Museum last night.

Olympian Blair Evans of Perth City was awarded the Singapore Airlines Short Course Swimmer of the Year for her Australian record-breaking performance in the women's 400m freestyle. Evans was also selected in the International All Star Team.

Ryan Arblaster, from Breakers Swim Club, was awarded the Roger Smith Technical Official of the Year. This caps off an amazing year for Arblaster, who had the honour of being Australia's representative on pool deck at the London Olympics, officiating at World Cups in Tokyo and Singapore, as well as refereeing the Australian Championships.

Retiring WA great Travis Nederpelt was recognised for his Services to the EnergyAustralia Swim team, after a long and distinguished career.
