Important message from the Rockingham Swimming Club

The Rockingham Swimming Club's "Summer Carnival" due to be held next weekend at Challenge Stadium has received an overwhelming number of entries.
As a result the club has worked very closely with Swimming WA and Challenge Stadium to provide the best solution possible for all Members.
The club understands the importance of all the events scheduled and wants to honour the majority of these entries.
The club has made the decision to cancel all relays due to the proposed timelines and will provide a refund for any entry money already paid for relays
on Saturday 9th Feb 2013.
The club has also made the difficult decision to move three events to Sunday in order to give all swimmers targeting both state and national
times the best opportunity to achieve these.
The following events have been moved to Sunday morning 10th Feb 2013.
Event 1 & 2 - 400m Freestyle events
Event 49,50, 51 & 52 - 200m Ind medley events
Event 53 - 800m Freestyle
Because the club is moving some events to Sunday there has also been several requests to conduct Time trials (for National qualifiers, or individuals targeting State records) to have an opportunity to swim 200m events on the Sunday. The club will give SWA Members this opportunity to do this by registering in person on Saturday morning at Challenge Stadium before 10.00am. The cost of these events will be $15 each. Warm-up for both days remains 8.00am, however the Start time for Saturday is 8.30am and for Sunday is 9.00am.
Saturday is anticipated to finish at 5.30pm and Sunday should finish at 1.00pm.
We appreciate that this decision may impact some people, however in order to keep the Meet program intact and provide what is a limited opportunity for some of these events we believe this decision is in the best interest of the majority of swimmers attending our meet.
Our club is aiming to run a fun meet for all involved, and we would like to acknowledge and thank all participating clubs for their understanding over the last few days.
The club has now closed and confirmed meet entries with all clubs and we will be forwarding a timeline and timekeeping roster to all participating clubs on Tuesday afternoon.
