Friday 14 April

After four epic days of compeition in Brsiabane for the Hancock Prospecting Australian Championship, three West Australians have been selected onto the national team.

Holly Barratt (Rockingham Swimming Club C. Will Scott), Zac Incerti (UWA West Coast C. Mick Palfery) and Brianna Throssell (UWA West Coast C. Mick Palfery will travel to Budapest as Australian Dolphins in July to compete at the 2017 FINA World Championships.

Incerti and Barrat will both take to the team as rookies, while Throssell will be making her return to the world stage after her maiden Olympics in Rio last year.

29-year-old Barratt will compete in the women's 100m backstroke after the swim of her life on day two of the championships saw her touch home in 59.66, a personal best and below the all important qualifying time for her ticket to Budapest.

After placing fourth in the men's 100m freestyle, Incerti will make his debut on the world stage in the men's 4x100m relay.

Throssell will take to the water in her pet event, the 200m Butterfly after placing second in the event, just behind fellow Rio Olympian Emma McKeon.
