With Natalie Woolfitt transferring to the Commercial Manager role, Swimming WA is pleased to announce the appointment of David Johnson to the Events and Operations Manager role.

David brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the Association having previously worked as the Director of Umpiring at the Western Australian Football Commission for ten (10) years, CEO of the Asthma Foundation WA for seven (7) years and most recently working for the Western Force.

Chief Executive Officer Darren Beazley said "David will manage the Open Water Swimming Series and major events such as the Swimmer of the Year Awards for Swimming WA. David brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to Swimming WA with his background in sport from junior participation through to the elite level.”

The former CEO of the Asthma Foundation WA understands the difficulties within the not-for-profit sector and hopes his broad network of commercial and private sector supporters will join him on this exciting new challenge.

“There is a great feeling of camaraderie within the team, which has obviously been established over a considerable period if time, and I’m looking forward to contributing where I can.” David said. “Swimming has played a major role within the West Australian community, providing opportunity for young and old to enjoy our national sport and I’m confident that we can build on this reputation and grow the sport further.”

If you’d like to be involved in what promises to be an exciting year of swimming, please contact David at Swimming WA, on (08) 9328 4599 or email at david.johnson@waswimming.org.au.
