Swimming WA Set To Crown State’s Best!

The 2017 Westpac Swimmer of the Year Awards will take place this Saturday evening at the Rendezvous Hotel Perth, Scarborough.

Swimming WA’s "night of nights" has attracted a record crowd for what promises to be a “glittering” night for the sport of swimming and a fitting culmination to one of its most successful years. Swimming Australia Ltd. CEO Mr Mark Anderson is the keynote speaker for the evening, which will bring together Western Australia’s champion swimmers past and present from right across the state. WA’s only individual Olympic Gold medallist Lyn McClements (Mexico 1968) will be in attendance to present the medal named in her honour.

The best able-bodied swimmer in Western Australia over the 2016/17 season will receive the “2017 Lyn McClements Medal”. The winner will be selected from a star-studded list of nominees including:

Another major feature of the evening will be the induction of the 57th Member of Swimming WA’s Hall of Fame.
