Achievements

Tamsin Cook moved with her family to Perth at the age of eight. She announced herself as a star of the future when at the 2015 World Junior Championships she won two gold and a silver medal. A year later she was the youngest swimmer to be named on the Rio Olympic team. Cook was a member of the 4x200m relay that won silver and in her individual event of the 400m free she swam a personal best and finished sixth. In 2017, Cook was in a car accident that saw her retire from the sport. In 2020, the impact of COVID-19 saw Cook take the opportunity to get back into the pool, and just after six months of returning to elite training, she recorded a career best time in the 400m event at the Australian Trials, booking her a spot to Tokyo for the Olympics.
