Over many years, WA swimming coaches and teachers have led the way nationally identifying, developing and nurturing the best talent no matter where they reside across this huge State. From iconic coaches such as Kevin Duff, Shelley Taylor-Smith and Bernie Mulroy to the upcoming crop of talented coaches, Swimming WA Members can be sure that their coach or teacher is capable of helping them to achieve their dreams.
Swimming WA works closely with Swimming Australia and Swim Coaches & Techers Australia (SCTA) WA, formally named ASCTA, each year to provide professional development opportunities and accreditation courses throughout the year. All Swimming Australia Accredited Coaches start their coaching journey as swim teachers and before coaches can enrol in the Development Coach Program, they must have held one of the following swim teacher qualifications for a minimum of 6 months:

The Swimming WA membership season runs from 1st October - 30th September. Members can start renewing their membership from September each year in preparation for the upcoming season starting in October.

Swimming WA Membership
To check you Swimming WA Membership please log into MySwimResults (MSR) and check that your profile includes a "coach/teacher" member type. Please ensure you maintain your Working with Children Check details in your profile to remain a coach member during the membership season (Oct - Sept).
Swimming Australia Coach Accreditation
All Swimming Australia accredited coaches must maintain their integrity requirements to remain accredited as coaches and receive their membership benefits including insurance, national event coach accreditation and other Swimming Australia benefits.
To ensure an ongoing commitment to a safe environment, Swimming Australia Coach Accreditation must also renew every three (3) years.
Reaccreditation and to update your integrity requirement coaches must completed this within Swimming Australia's sport management system Swimcentral.
Swim Coaches and Teachers Australia Membership
Swim Coaches and Teachers Australia (formally ASCTA) have annual membership for members via the DITA Platform. The membership season runs from 1st July to 30th June each year.
