Make a difference within the Swimming WA community!
At Swimming WA, our success depends on the support of our amazing volunteers. Whether you have a few hours to spare or can commit regularly, there’s a place for you to help us.
You don't have to be a Swimming WA member to volunteer but some roles will require a Working with Children (WWC) Check.
- Volunteer Opportunities
- Volunteer of the Month (VOTM)
- Every month from October to April, Swimming WA will be asking for nominations for Volunteer of the Month.
- Nominations will open on the 1st of the month and close on the last day of the month.
- Nominations will be sent to the Swimming WA Honours and Awards Committee who will decide on the monthly winner.
- Winners will be announced the following month via the Swimming WA website and Facebook page.
- All monthly winners will receive a prize and be elevated for selection to be named Volunteer of the Year at the annual Awards of Excellence.

Pool Events
Be a part of the heart of the action by assisting with various tasks such as timekeeping, accreditations, medal presentations and more.
Open Water Events
Join us at our Open Water Swimming (OWS) Series rounds to assist with registrations, applying race number tattoos, collecting timing clips, handing out fruit and water, medal presentations.
Volunteers are also needed at the Swimming WA Secondary Schools Open Water Swimming Championships, this year held on the 21-22 November 2024. Assistance needed with organising registration packs, sausage sizzle station and more.
Club Committee
Support your swimming community by serving in vital positions such as President, Registrar, Meet Director, Secretary, Treasurer and more.
General Volunteering

Volunteers are an integral part of our sport, whether that be helping to set up a swim meet, being a last-minute timekeeper or cooking sausages for a fundraiser. Swimming WA are wanting to acknowledge how hard our volunteers work and we have put together an initiative to recognise and reward these local legends. So, if you have a superstar volunteer at your club doing great things, please share with our swimming community!
