2022 Hancock Prospecting WA Short Course State Championships – Recap

The 2022 Hancock Prospecting Short Course State Championship was held once again at HBF Stadium and took course over three days, Friday 5 to Sunday 7 of August.

Let’s get into the highlights of the 2022 Hancock Prospecting Short Course State Championships.

2022 SC State Championships

Congratulations to our top achievers of the meet!

- Alyssa Burgess, from Arena Swim Club, is the top ranked female athlete of the meet, achieving ten personal best times.

- Jemma Apps, from UWA West Coast, is the second ranked female athlete of the meet, achieving eight personal best times.

- Emma Stewart, from Arena Swim Club, is the third ranked female athlete of the meet, achieving nine personal best times.

- Rhiannon Dunning, from Perth City Swimming Club, is the fourth ranked female athlete of the meet, achieving seven personal best times.

- Maeve McKenna, from St Hilda’s Swim Club, is the fifth ranked female athlete of the meet, achieving nine personal best times. McKenna has already entered four events for the Australian Short Course Championships in Sydney and will be competing at the end of the month.

- Braden Fyneman, from UWA West Coast Swimming Club, is the top ranked male athlete of the meet, achieving seven personal best times. The 15-year-old has already entered three events for the 2022 Australian Short Course Championships in Sydney. The long-distance champ will be racing the Men’s 1500m, 800m freestyle and the Men’s 400m Individual Medley.

- Allen Maynard, from South Shore Swimming Club, is the second ranked male athlete of the meet, achieving eight personal best times.

- Oliver Bridgman, from Breakers Swim Club, is the third ranked male athlete of the meet, achieving seven personal best times.

- Javier Marginet, from UWA West Coast Swimming Club, is the fourth ranked male athlete of the meet, achieving seven personal best times.

- Thomas Dreverman, from South Shore Swimming Club, is the fifth ranked male athlete of the meet, achieving ten personal best times.

Clubs

Well done to all 42 swim clubs who competed. The top three clubs of the meet were Scarborough Beach Swimming Club coming third place with 428 points, St Hildas Swim Club ranked second with 554 points and UWA West Coast Swimming Club comes out on top with a total of 1,115 points.

UWA West Coast Swimming Club took home the top metro club and Peel Aquatic won top country club of the short course meet.
