2023 Australian Multi-Class Age Swimming Championships Recap

The 2023 Australian Multi-Class Age Swimming Championships, held in the picturesque Gold Coast from April 7-9, showcased the incredible talent of our young multi-class swimmers.

Jordan Berryman S8 (UWA West Coast, c: Brett Tongue) was one of the standout performers, earning a Gold medal in the Girls 400m 16-18 Freestyle and a Bronze medal in the Girls 16-18 200m IM and Girls 16-18 50m Freestyle, as well as placing fourth in the Girls 16-18 50m Breaststroke and fifth in the Girls 16-18 100m Breaststroke and the Girls 16-18 50m Butterfly respectively.

Another standout performer was Rebekah Fraser S15 (Riverton, c: Gemma Herrington), who came in fourth in the Girls 14-15 100m Backstroke and eighth in both the Girls 14-15 100m Butterfly and Girls 14-15 200IM.

Other notable swimmers include Jessica Louw S19 (Southside Penrhos Wesley, c: Chris Purcell), who placed sixth in the Girls 14-15 50m Backstroke and ninth in the Girls 14-15 50m Butterfly. Bel Dabic S19 (Bunbury, c: Mickie Castieu) also had a strong showing in the finals, coming in tenth in the Girls 14-15 100m Backstroke A-Final and tenth in the Girls 14-15 100m Freestyle B-Final.

In the Girls 12-13 50m Breaststroke and Girls 12-13 100m Breaststroke, Miranda Kiewiet SB19 (Australind, c: Taarna Cam) placed seventh. Lucinda Foley S8 (UWA West Coast, Rob Palfery) also had a solid performance, coming in eighth in the Girls 16-18 100m Backstroke and ninth in the Girls 16-18 50m Butterfly.

In the Boys 14-15 50m Backstroke B-Final, Alexey Ulupov S6 (Kwinana, c: Lucky Weerakkody) placed in seventh and Lachlan Rowles S9 (UWA West Coast, c: Brett Tongue) placed ninth. Zachary McCamley SM19 (UWA West Coast, c: Brett Tongue) placed twelfth in the Boys 14-15 200m IM.
