Amazing Volunteer from Northam Swimming Club Wins Volunteer of the Month for December!

12 January 2023

The Swimming WA Volunteer of the Month is awarded to a member of our swimming community who displays the Swimming WA SPIRIT values of Safety, Passion, Integrity, Respect, Inclusion and Teamwork to the highest possible standard.  Volunteers are an integral part of our sport, and we want to recognize their amazing contribution!

The winner of the December Volunteer of the Month award is...

EMMA RYAN from NORTHAM SWIMMING CLUB!

Emma Ryan has been a member of the Northam Swimming Club since the age of six and now at sixteen, is currently training to attain her SAT-CS qualifications to become a coach with the club.

Emma has been nominated for the SWA Volunteer of the Month due to always promoting the SPIRIT values of Inclusion and Passion within all her interactions at the club. An example of this is the time Emma spends with the Squids (Juniors); Emma displays great encouragement, patience and inclusiveness with all the beginner swimmers; whether this is during pre-training stretches or her role as assistant coach. Her continuous, energetic enthusiasm towards all the swimmers at our club sees Emma as a great role model and mentor for our younger members.

Emma’s inclusive and caring attitude has helped the club by supporting our new swimmers to manage and cope with the structure and expectations of training, time trials and competitions.

Emma is always available and ready to assist her club and fellow swimmers in anything she can. Thanks Emma, for showing great SPIRIT!

Emma Ryan

If you have someone like Emma at your club, nominate them for January Volunteer of the Month.
