Swimming WA (SWA) is excited to announce that the Swim Coaches & Teachers Western Australia (SCTAWA) ”Age Nationals Scholarship”, offering WA swim coaches the opportunity to further enhance their coaching skills through education and development by attending the 2025 National Age & Open Championships being conducted in Brisbane, Queensland from April 10-18, 2025.
The scholarship is open to all WA Development Level coaches accredited with SWA and SCTA. Some consideration will be given to junior Coaches who do not currently hold Development Levels but are actively undertaking the Development course at the time of selection.
A scholarship of $2000 each will be granted to one male and one female coach to assist with air travel, accommodation and expenses for attending the 2025 National Age & Open Championships in Brisbane. It is envisaged that the successful applicants will be embedded with two Eastern States clubs attending the championships so they can observe how the club prepares and manages their swimmers' racing execution and development at major swim meets.
Other Eligibility Criteria:
- Must be over 18 years of age.
- Must be actively coaching with a WA-affiliated club.
- All applicants to demonstrate their commitment and responsibility to their coaching development.
- All applications must be made on the online application form and submitted no later than Friday, February 28, 2025 at 5pm.
Selection:
- The successful applicants will be selected based on the coach's application and decided by a panel of SCTA and SWA representatives.
- The successful applicants will be notified by email as designated in their application no later than Friday, March 14, 2025.
