Celebrating Years of Service in Officiating

Technical Officiating is a crucial role in swimming, as it ensures the smooth running of competitors and the fair assessment of athletes’ performances. Two individuals who have been making a significant contribution to the field of technical officiating for several years are Steve Hill and Katherine Hurford.

Steve Hill has recently completed ten years of service in officiating. Throughout his career, Steve has demonstrated a high level of expertise and dedication to his role. Katherine Hurford has also been making a significant contribution to the field of technical officiating, completing five years in the role. 

Steve and Katherine have officiated at most state pool and open water events and most recently, the 2023 Australian Open Water Championships. Their passion and commitment to ensuring fair competition have made them very well-respected officials. They have made a significant impact in the Swimming WA community, with countless amounts of time dedicated to this sport. Their experience and knowledge in officiating have made them valuable assets and an inspiration to the Swimming WA community.
