Kicking off the action on Monday 5 April at the Gold Coast Swimming and Aquatic Centre will be the country’s elite para-athletes and multi-class age competitors. Looking to strengthen their preparation before the Tokyo Paralympics and claim Australian titles, the talents of recent World Champions, Tiffany Thomas Kane (Monte) and Lakeisha Patterson (Belgravia), will be on show, as well as Paralympic gold medallists, Brenden Hall (Belgravia) and Ellie Cole (Knox Pymble).

At the conclusion of the multi-class program of events – which spans the first three days of the 2021 Australian Age Swimming Championships – the next wave of young talent will line up against their domestic counterparts to compete for a place in the record books and the coveted podium.

Following the exciting ripple effect left from the Age competition, the Australian Swimming Championships begin on Wednesday 14 April and feature the likes of Rio Olympians Emma McKeon (Griffith), Kyle Chalmers (Marion), Cate Campbell (Knox Pymble) and Mitch Larkin (St Peters Western).

As time ticks down to Tokyo there’s no doubt these athletes will be lapping up every opportunity for race experience, so get ready for a fierce edition of this year’s champs.

Replicating what the athletes will face at the Olympic Games, finals at the Australian Swimming Championships will be swum in the morning and heats in the evening.
