New President to Lead SWA Board

16 September 2021

The Swimming WA Board was disappointed to receive the resignation of Helen Hull, former President of Swimming WA, who had stood down from her role earlier in the year for personal reasons.   Helen’s resignation resulted in the SWA Board requiring nominating a new President, and we are delighted to announce that Dominic Sheldrick has now stepped into this role.  Dominic was elected to the Swimming WA Board in October 2020 and is a familiar face in the swimming community having represented Australia in 1987 and was a former swimmer at the AIS.  In his professional life, Dominic has worked as an executive coach and performance development consultant in the corporate sector and has a wide experience in helping individuals, teams and organisations to develop high performing environments where they can maximise their potential.

The SWA Board would like to thank Helen Hull for her enormous contribution to swimming over a number of years.  In addition, the Board would like to thank and acknowledge the tireless efforts of Dorothy Harris, who valiantly stepped into the Acting President’s role since Helen’s absence from the Board over the past months.  Dorothy has overseen the selection and recruitment of the new CEO, Sophie Row, and supported her through her commencement in the role.
