We are proud to announce that Shannon Nicholson from Geraldton Amateur Swimming Club has been named the Volunteer of the Month (VOTM) for April 2023, our last VOTM for the season!
“Shannon is currently the Secretary for the club, and as everyone knows this is actually the most time-consuming job on the committee! He always comes on pool deck in a super positive mood and at time trials, where he performs the official job of Check Starter, encourages each and every swimmer to do their absolute best and has a bit of a joke with those that need to release some of their nerves!
Our outside pool is being rebuilt at the moment and the trolley was very hard to get from the shed to the inside pool and he came in during a lunch break and built little ramps which made it super easy to bring in the trolley. He does so many small tasks, unasked for and he just does them quietly, to keep the club running as it should – focusing on our swimmers. He deserves to have the recognition for all his hard work.”
