After two days of competition, the SunSmart Country Pennants has come to an end for another year. The event attracted over 2000 Swimmers, Coaches, Technical Officials, Parents and Volunteers to the Geraldton Aquarena. There were many close races reflected by the tight scores in the final standings.
On Sunday, Swimming WA held a Junior Dolphin Carnival in the indoor 25m leisure pool. All swimmers who participated learnt new skills and increased their swimming confidence which will be translated into training or racing. With 20 registrations for the event, it made it a sell-out, capping off a great weekend for SWA run Development activities.
During the Medal Ceremony, Jan Smith, Swimming WA Country Coordinator, announced that the 2022 SunSmart Country Pennants will be held in Carnarvon.
Congratulations to the Geraldton Swimming Club for making this event a successful one. Thank you to those people who have volunteered their time around the pool deck during the last two days. Without your efforts, an event like this could not take place.
