Volunteer of the Month

08 March 2021

Swimming WA is pleased to announce that the Volunteer of the Month for February 2021 is Christine Thompson from Pinjarra Swimming Club.

VOM

Christine has played a pivotal role in the continued growth of Pinjarra Swimming Club. She has been assisting the Club for almost nine years and has supported the Club and its Members through many challenges.

Christine took on the role of Club President at a difficult time and steered them back in the right direction, setting the foundation for growth. Now back as a general member, she always makes herself available for advice, and has a wealth of knowledge to provide.

Pinjarra would not be the Club they are today without Christine's support. Having served as a Coach, Offical and President, she has become a highly valued and dearly loved Member among the Pinjarra and WA swimming community.

Swimming WA would like to thank Christine for her contributions to swimming and congratulate her on receiving the award. Well done!

Christine was awarded a Westpac prize and now goes into the running for the Swimming WA Volunteer of the Year which is announced at the 2021 Westpac Swimmer of the Year Awards.

The Swimming WA Volunteer of the Year will receive return flights, accommodation and tickets for two people to attend the Swimming Australia Gala Dinner (date and venue TBC).

Swimming WA will be accepting nominations for the Westpac Volunteer of the Month until 30 April 2021. For more information visit https://wa.swimming.org.au/resources/clubs/westpac-volunteer-month
