WA team selected for 2025 Tri-Series in Ballarat

Swimming WA has announced its team to represent the state at the 2025 Tri-Series in Ballarat, Victoria, from July 7-12.

Now in its third year, the Tri-Series is a fun and competitive meet between teams from WA, Victoria and New Zealand. It provides up-and-coming swimmers with an opportunity to race in a different environment and gain valuable experience.

Leading the WA charge is Breakers Thomas Cheeseman, who clocked the fastest 50m breaststroke in the country this year for 16-year-olds at the 2025 Australian Age Championships.

Joining him is sprint freestyler Eloise Sheldrick (Fenix), ranked in the top 3 nationally for 15-year-olds in both the 50m and 100m freestyle. Speed runs in the family - following the path of her older sister, backstroker Isabel Sheldrick.

Breaststroker Brielle Dredge (Kwinana) continues her rapid rise after being named to the national top 3 in the 200m breaststroke for 15-year-olds. Busselton swimmer Brooklyn Rayne is coming off a great season, competing at the 2025 Australian Age Nationals and making a B Final in the 100m freestyle. This is Dredge’s and Rayne’s second year as part of the Tri-Series WA team.

Veterans of the Tri-Series WA team, Anouk Potter (Highlanders) and Sam Carmignani (Hale Aquatics), will make their third consecutive appearance, bringing their experience to the young WA squad.
