Swimming WA Board



Louis is a solicitor and has been specialising in corporate and commercial law for nearly 15 years. He is admitted to practice law in WA and NSW and is Managing Principal at LVA Legal in Perth. Louis is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and is a regular public speaker to industry professionals in Australia on certain key areas of corporate law and practice.  His legal experience and ability to give clear and sound advice will benefit and further strengthen the board of Swimming WA.

Having served as a Director on the Swimming WA Board for four years he was named President at the 2016 AGM. 



Dorothy, affectionately known at Dot, has been involved in our sport for more than 20 years, has officiated at an international level and is a strong contributor to country swimming.



Guy has been the General Manager of Telstra Retail Perth since 2006 and has almost a quarter of a century experience in professional management with a proven track record of developing new business opportunities. Guy brings to the board a wealth of commercial experience and will help to further strengthen the organisations leadership and deliver upon its current strategic plan. 



Travis won an unprecedented seven gold medals at the Australian Youth Olympic Festival in 2003. He went on to compete in the 2004 Athens Olympics and the 2008 Beijing Olympics in the 400m IM and 200m butterfly. Since 2014 he has successfully owned and operated Nederpelt Fitness, a provider of personal training and gorup fittness classes. 


Tim is a specialist in financial risk management and investment, Mr. Andrew has worked for chartered accounting firms and investment banks in Australia, Hong Kong, Japan and the US.Now permanently based in Perth, the Andrews are active members of Bay View Saints Swimming Club. 


In her time as a professional swimmer Lara represented Australia at the Athens Olympic Games in 2004, finishing 6th in the 200m Individual Medley, and claimed one silver and two bronze world championship medals, as well as a bronze at the 2006 Commonwealth Games.

As member of the Swimming WA Hall of Fame, Lara aims to further Swimming WA’s junior and regional development programmes in her new role, utilising her exceptional network of sporting and business contacts here and overseas.


Barry brings a wealth of experience in both business and swimming. After completing a traineeship with KPMG, Barry has gone on to work with private companies in financial and general management roles. Barry comes from a strong swimming background, having been on the committee at both Breakers Swim Club and Perth City Swim Club as well as having two children involved in competitive swimming.
