2015 – 2016 SWIMMING WA VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR PROGRAMME

Do you know a Volunteer or Official in your Club who always ‘goes the extra mile’?

Would you like to recognise and reward your Club Volunteers and Officials?

Do you wish that more programmes were in place to increase Volunteers in your Club?

Swimming WA has an initiative to address all of these questions!

Concept

Swimming WA (SWA) recognises that volunteers are a vitally important part of our sport and has created a programme to promote and reward hard working volunteers.

From 1 October 2015, SWA will call for nominations for a Volunteer of the Month each month until 30 April 2016. Nominations are to be sent to the SWA Development Manager by COB on the last day of each month and should contain no more than 300 words on the achievements of the nominee.

All volunteers who have won a monthly award will be put forward for the Volunteer of the Year award, which will be announced at the annual SWA Swimmer of the Year Awards event in 2016.

The SWA Honours and Awards Committee will meet to decide on the monthly and yearly winners.

Both the nominator and the nominee must be current financial SWA members.

Nominations received by SWA will be forwarded to Swimming Australia’s Local Legends volunteer programme each month.

Recognition

The SWA Volunteer of the Month and Year will be recognised on the SWA website www.wa.swimming.org.au and in the monthly newsletter, e-Splash.

Reward

The SWA Volunteer of the Month will receive a SWA leather notebook and plaque. The monthly winners will automatically be nominated for the SWA Volunteer of the Year.

The SWA Volunteer of the Year will receive, courtesy of SWA, return flights, accommodation and tickets for two (2) people to attend the Swimming Australia Swimmer of Year Awards in 2016.
