  • Curtin University Victoria Park Swimming Club: Assistant/Development Coach

    CUVP Swimming Club is a Swimming WA affiliated club, community-based club located at Aqualife Centre, East Victoria Park, WA. We have a long history of coach-led squad training and focus on social and competitive training for swimmers aged 7 years to adults, as well as offering fitness swimming for 16+ ages. We aim to bring out the best in all swimmers, celebrate their personal best and provide a supportive, fun and social environment. Our junior membership base has grown, and we are looking to appoint a junior/assistant coach to support our Head Coach.

    Special Olympics Australia: Swimming Coach

    Special Olympics Australia is currently seeking a qualified swimming coach who can provide assistance and support in the ongoing development of the swim program for intellectually disabled athletes.

    Special Olympics Australia has a proud history of creating opportunities for swimmers to merge passion and ability in regular sport participation. The role will provide technical skill development across a range of swimming disciplines to support athletes in achieving their goals.

    Lesmurdie Legends Swimming Club: Head Coach

    Lesmurdie Legends Swimming Club swims out of St Brigid’s College Lesmurdie and comprises a 25m indoor pool with an adjoining gym.

    We currently have 4 levels of squad and run sessions 5 afternoons and 1 morning per week.

    We are looking for a person who is passionate about swimming and supporting our swimmers to be the best they can be. This includes being able to identify and foster talent, supporting our swimmers through the physical and emotional journey that swimming can be. Having the demonstrated ability to take them to State level and beyond. The Head Coach must also oversee the full range of the club, ensuring our Junior Swimmers are being engaged and brought through the program with the required skills and our less competitive members still have a place and remain engaged with the club culture. We are looking for someone to join and lead the Lesmurdie Legends Family.

    Our Head Coach role would be responsible for the development and the delivery of the swimming program for the squads. Leading and working collaboratively, with our other coaches in order to promote and develop the club, with the help and support of the club committee.

    • Delivery of a structured program to meet the goals of the swimmers and the team.
    • Provide individual feedback to swimmers on stroke correction and development.
    • Communicate effectively with swimmers, parents and other stakeholders.
    • Promote a positive and safe work environment.
    • Assist in the promotion and growth of the club and the squad program

    Qualifications including Teacher of Competitive Swimming (SAT-CS) or higher and a valid Working With Children Check are required.

    UWA West Coast Swimming Club: Pathway Coach

    UWA West Coast Swimming Club is one of the largest swimming clubs in Perth Metro, Western Australia. We are proud to offer a complete pathway program, from entry level to State qualifying Junior swimmers, through to Age and Open State, and National qualifying Senior athletes.

    We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Swimming Pathway Coach to join our Club Coaching team and support our Head Coach. The ideal candidate will have a passion for developing swimmers with experience coaching Junior State qualifying, Age State qualifying and experience and/or aspirations in developing Age National qualifying athletes.

    Kwinana Swimming Club: Assistant Coach

    Kwinana Swimming Club is a well-established competitive swim club that is achieving significant success in the pool with all our swimmers. We are seeking a motivated and passionate coach to assist in the development of our junior squad members.

    The Assistant coach would be required to:

    • Plan and deliver training programmes (with guidance and support from the Head Coach) to our Junior Squads that challenge swimmers in a fun learning environment incorporating correct technique on all strokes and skills.
    • Participate in club events such as Club Meets, Interclub Meets, Premierships etc
    • Communicate in a positive and supportive manner to swimmers and parents.
    • Hold a current Working with Children Check, CPR, First Aid and National Police clearance certificates.
    • Hold a current Australian Coaching Accreditation. Development Coach preferred or in a position to attend the next Development Coaches Course. (Full training and support will be provided by the Head Coach)

    Newman Churchlands Swimming Club: Assistant/Development Coach

    Newman Churchlands Swimming Club (NCSC) is a community-based, SWA affiliated swimming club offering year-round squad training and seasonal swimming lessons for swimmers of all levels, from fitness through to competition level. Our members enjoy access to the 50m heated outdoor pool at Newman College, Churchlands.

    NCSC is seeking a motivated and passionate Assistant/Development Coach to join our coaching team, specifically an all-rounder who can prepare and develop Juniors, deliver fitness programs and focussed competitive training for our youth squads.

    Working with the Lead Coach, you will be responsible for creating a supportive culture of swimming excellence through implementation of a high-quality swimming program to suit a range of ages and abilities.

    The successful applicant must be available to coach morning and afternoon sessions outside of school hours Monday to Saturday, along with attendance at nominated swimming competitions as required (mainly weekends).

    The Assistant Coach would be required to:

    • Provide technical skill development across multiple ability levels.
    • Recognise and nurture the varying degrees of talent.
    • Inspire and guide our swimmers to achieve their personal bests in and out of the pool.
    • Proven ability to motivate and build strong rapport with teenagers and younger swimmers in order to enhance their competition skills, fitness and overall wellbeing.
    • A commitment to providing a high level of customer service and communication skills.
    • Welldeveloped interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective relationships.
    • Participate in club events such as Club Meets, Interclub meets, Club Premierships etc.

    The Assistant Coach accreditation:

    • Hold a current Australian Coaching Accreditation. Development Coach preferred or in a position to attend the Development Coaches Course (full training and support to be provided by the Lead Coach).
    • Hold a current Working with Children check, CPR/First Aid certificates.

    Salary:  as per the Fitness Industry Award (MA000094). Competitive rates can be negotiated based on qualifications and experience.

    Hours:  5+ hours per week plus additional hours during the summer season.

  • Pinjarra Swimming Club: Head Coach

    The Pinjarra Swim Club is seeking a Coach for the 2022-23 season and beyond.


    Our swimming club is a small regional club with school aged swimmers, fitness swimmers, State Junior -Senior swimmers and we currently have two National swimmers who we would love to retain and keep them competing at this level.

    We are starting a Dolphin (mini squad) program to encourage more swimmers from our centres swim school program to transition to club swimming.

    PSC fosters the enjoyment of swimming and competes at meets in both short course and long course at the highest levels. 

    The coach would be required to:

    • Plan and deliver training programmes that challenge swimmers in a fun environment including correct technical strokes.
    • Communicate in a positive and supportive manner to swimmers.
    • Work effectively with the Pinjarra Club committee.
    • Determine, prepare for and attend target meets during the swimming season including country pennants.
    • Hold a current Working with children Check-CPR, First Aid-National Police clearance- be a registered member of ASCTA and be willing to become a Swimming WA Member, and have up to date coaching accreditation Development Level or Above.

    Working hours are currently totalling 16hrs per week, these hours will increase as our numbers grow again going forward.

    Mandurah Swimming Club: Swimming Coach

    The Mandurah Swimming Club is a well-established competitive swim club that is currently achieving significant growth and success in the pool with our junior and senior swimmers. As a result, we are seeking a motivated and passionate individual to assist in the development of our squad members.

    The Swimming Coach will assist the Head Coach in the development and progression of our successful squad program. This will include delivering training plans that provide progression for our junior members through to our Senior Squad. The position will include early mornings and may also include weekends.

    LocationMandurah Aquatic & Recreation Centre (MARC), Mandurah, WA.

    Salary RangeA competitive salary will be negotiated based on qualifications and experience.

    Hours6 per week – with the option for additional hours if required.

    Responsibilities

    • Assisting the Head Coach
    • Overseeing, coaching and development of both the Junior and Senior Squad’s program
    • Identify and develop individual swimmer's short-term and long-term goals
    • Effectively communicating as necessary with swimmers, parents, and other coaches
    • Promotion and growth of the club and swim team program

    Qualifications

    • Teacher of Competitive Swimming (SAT-CS) minimum
    • Development Coach Accreditation is desirable
    • First Aid Certificate, desirable or willing to attain (HLTAID011)
    • Valid Working with Children Check

    School Sport WA Team

    - Lead Coach

    Swimming WA, in partnership with School Sport WA (SSWA) are seeking to engage the assistance of an accredited Swimming Australia coach to lead the SSWA team during the School Sport Australia Championships hosted in Queensland.

    Travel Dates: July 23 to August 4 2024

    Main Roles:

    • Coordination of warm-up times/athletes each session.

    • Collaboration with home coaches.

    • Involvement in team selection and relay selections.

    • Athlete supervision (on pool deck and during the team excursion).

    Inclusions:

    • Flights and accommodation paid for.

    • Meals subsidy.

    • Uniform provided by SSWA.

     

    This Coach must be available for the duration of the event plus some planning meetings prior to the trip, (dates/times TBA). This is a great opportunity for a Coach to upskill and gain further experience in leading a team of up to 100 athletes interstate.

    A key deliverable of the program is the provision of competition opportunities, supplementing learnings from the athletes' training environment.

    Coaches are a fundamental delivery partner of the Performance Pathway Program and provide assistance to touring Performance Pathway Program teams.
