2020 Westpac Summer League Series - Round 2 Recap

17 February 2020

This weekend saw Round 2 of the 2020 Westpac Summer League take place at St Hilda’s Anglican School for Schools.

After much anticipation and excitement over 115 athletes from the North and Central Zones converged on St Hilda’s for an incredible afternoon of competition.

Under the careful guidance of MC extraordinaire, David Todd, every swimmer was getting involved and having fun with loads of personal bests achieved. Australian Hockeyroo’s Georgia Wilson and Sophie Taylor were on hand to assist with the festivities, even getting involved with the all-important dance competition!

However, as much as fun was the priority, the teams were engaged in some tight competition, with series points up for grabs. Central Zone series leaders, Southside Penrhos Wesley were in full force again trying to maintain their strong start, fielding a very strong team.

Throughout the afternoon there were some incredible swims, and strong team efforts that saw the points tally tighten up significantly, however, in the end, Southside Penrhos Wesley were able to pull away to win Round 2 and extend their series lead.
