Lesmurdie Legends Meet Draws a Crowd!

17 February 2020

The Lesmurdie Legends Swimming Club hosted a SWA sanctioned Meet on Saturday February 15th up at the Kalamunda Aquatic Centre. There was a huge turn out with Fremantle Ports, Breakers, Tuart Hill, Guildford Kalamunda, Victoria Park and Mount Helena Swimming Clubs and many others, all there to compete and put their training to the test. Lesmurdie Legends President Simon Bates and his hard working Committee made sure that the Meet was welcoming and had something for everyone. A SunSmart Splash & Dash carnival ensured that the younger swimmers had the chance too get involved, which Technical Officials Debby Doody, Kate Reyonds, Mark Foster and others made sure that the Meet was well run.

Local MLA Matthew Hughes and Councillor Margaret Thomas from the Shire of Kalamunda were there to speak with Simon Bates and SWA CEO Darren Beazley about a potential upgrade of the current pool. SWA Ambassador Josh Hofer swum at the Meet and posed for photos with the crowd.

Our congratulations to the Lesmurdie Legends Swimming Club on hosting such a successful Meet and for playing an important part to ensure that swimmers who live in the hills have access to high quality racing.
