With the Swimming season now well underway, performing at your best means making sure you are physically and mentally well prepared to maximise your performance.

Performing at your best means establishing an elite mindset, having the right training plan, making sure your body is getting the right nutrients and fuelling your body for success, and taking the necessary steps to keep your body functioning at it's best.

We've put together an amazing line up of speakers to share their knowledge, tips and experience on how to prepare your body for peak performance in order to achieve your goals this season, whether it’s in the pool, open water, triathlon or Ironman.

Dr Sacha Fulton is an accredited Sports Scientist, preparation specialist and is passionate about sport and helping individuals unlock their potential and reach their goals.

Sacha completed her PhD with Swimming Australia in 2008 and the Australian Institute of Sport. Sacha worked with the Australian Institute of Sport for over nine years, assisting in the athletic improvement of Olympic and aspiring Olympic hopefuls. She accompanied the Australian Paralympic Swimming team to the Beijing Paralympic Games in 2008 and the London Paralympic Games in 2012. Sacha is a keen athlete herself, having represented Australia at the IM Triathlon World Championships in Kona, Hawaii and completing the Rottnest Channel Swim on 5 occasions including 2 solo crossings.

Sacha's presentation will cover:

  • Nutrition and hydration
  • Establishing an elite mindset

Taylor Nicholas is the co-owner of Enhanced Occupational Therapy, a Soft Tissue Therapy Clinic in East Perth. She specialises in the diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation and prevention of primarily, musculoskeletal disorders.

Taylor has a passion for working with athletes across many various sports and helps them to perform at their optimum level. This includes injury prevention, rehabilitation and increasing performance capabilities.

Taylor's presentation will cover provide an insight into how the body functions and how this relates to athletic performance, healing and health.

Ralph McManis has extensive experience as a coach, swimmer and athlete manager. He was a member of the Commonwealth Games Squad in 1962, WA Olympic Mentor and Athlete Manager for the Sydney 2000 Olympics and currently holds a number of coaching positions including National Open Water Swimming Coach and Head Coach. Ralph has been an Open Water Competitor for 20 years, including 16 Rottnest crossings and 2 solos. Ralph is currently filming a video series for Swimming Australia on nutrition and fuelling your body for maximum performance.

Ralph’s presentation will focus on:

  • Nutrition principles
  • Common nutrition challenges and strategies
