SWIMMING WA BOARD FILLS CASUAL VACANCY
The Western Australian Swimming Association Inc. (“Swimming WA”) is pleased to announce that the Board has appointed Mr Sean Pitt to fill a casual vacancy on the Board. Sean joined the Swimming WA Board on 30 March 2020 and will serve until the next Swimming WA AGM, to be held on 9 October 2020.
“I am delighted to join the Swimming WA Board and to promote the sport of swimming. I hope that, in these challenging times, my commercial experience is of value to the organisation and complement the diversity and expertise already in place” Mr. Pitt said today.
Mr. Pitt has a strong connection with Western Australian swimming with his daughter swimming at St Hilda’s Swimming Club as well as being a Technical Official for Club meets (Judge of Stroke).
Swimming WA President, Mr Louis van Aardt, welcomed Sean Pitt to the Swimming WA Board:
“The Swimming WA Board’s recent skills and experience audit indicated that a Board member with financial skills and experience would be valuable given the increasing complexity of the commercial opportunities we are pursuing. The arrival of the COVID-19 pandemic has only increased the need for strong financial acumen and knowledge as the Association attempts to navigate its way through one of the most difficult economic conditions that our sport and this State has experienced.
I am confident that Mr Pitt will significantly bolster our financial governance. His appointment is clearly beneficial to the interests of our sport and our Members. I welcome Mr Pitt to the Swimming WA Board and look forward to his contribution to Western Australian swimming in these challenging times”, he said.
