Swimming WA Seeking Appointed Board Member

Swimming WA is looking for a new Board Director to join our team. The candidate’s expertise should align with the organisation’s strategic direction and complement the existing skill set of the current Elected Board.

Swimming WA is looking for an individual who is an emerging leader, has commercial, marketing or communications experience, government/political advocacy experience, or is from diverse backgrounds such as Paralympic sport, culturally/linguistically diverse or First Nations. Entrepreneurial skills are also highly valued.

Swimming WA is the State governing body for the sport in Western Australia, with a clear vision to ensure swimming is an essential part of the Western Australian way of life. The organisation has a bold strategic plan to ensure future success while maintaining its standing as Australia’s most successful Olympic sport. The Swimming WA network encompasses over 80 clubs and 11,000+ registered members, including swimmers, coaches, officials, administrators, volunteers and parents of swimmers.

The role of Swimming WA Board Directors is to contribute to the overall governance activities of the Board, including providing input in the matters of corporate strategy, policy formulation and implementation, Chief Executive Officer performance, as well as oversight of the financial performance, risk management and compliance. The Board plays an important role in the continued progression, improvement, and growth of the sport in WA.
