Synergy to partner with Western Australian Swimming

18 September 2019

The Western Australian Swimming Association Inc. (Swimming WA) is delighted to announce a new commercial partnership with WA's largest electricity generator and retailer, Synergy.

Supplying millions of residential, business and industrial customers across Western Australia, Synergy will be on-site with their renewable energy ‘Solar on the Move’ trailer at five Swimming WA Open Water Swimming (OWS) Series Rounds in the upcoming 2019/20 season.

The Synergy ‘Solar on the Move’ trailer brings clean, cutting edge technology to customers with the latest in PV and battery storage.

The energy generated will provide power to the event, as well as allowing participants the opportunity to charge their phones and devices.

Swimming WA Chief Executive Officer, Mr Darren Beazley said he was very pleased with this development. “Swimming WA is extremely conscious of our carbon footprint across all our events, specifically events located on our pristine West Australian coastline. Our partnership with Synergy will ensure our power usage is kept to a minimum, and create an opportunity to educate our participants and spectators on the benefits of solar energy.”

Synergy CEO, Mr Jason Waters, said the organisation was proud to be providing renewable power to community events to help bring down running costs, and provide an environmentally-friendly option to traditional diesel generators. “Synergy is delighted that over the coming months the solar and battery system will be powering the Swimming WA Open Water Swimming Series events with renewable energy,” Mr Waters said.

“Solar energy continues to be one of the most immediate opportunities for our customers to contribute to a cleaner electricity supply chain and at these events, they can learn via TV screens about the system and see first-hand how the inverter and batteries are housed inside.”

Synergy’s ‘Solar on the Move’ will be present at the following Swimming WA Open Water Swimming Series events:

· Cottesloe, 2 November 2019

· Busselton, 16 November 2019

· Rockingham, 23 November 2019

· Mullaloo, 28 December 2019

· Sorrento, 26 January 2020 (Australia Day weekend)
