Westpac Summer League Preview.

With summer on the horizon, you can’t help but feel the excitement in the air as the swimming season is upon us. With the warm weather comes the Westpac Summer League Series, an exciting, competitive and quick Club-based competition, which is back for 2020 and better than ever.

 

The programme has been designed to be a short, sharp and exhilarating carnival that emphasises fun and interclub rivalry. The intention of the series is to both attain and retain athletes of all calibre in our sport and experience the most fun you can have at the pool.

 

The 2020 Westpac Summer League will see Clubs from all over Perth battle it out for glory. Clubs will compete within their dedicated Zones, (South, North and Central) over four rounds throughout the summer eventuating in a legend of the league.

 

Round dates and venues are stated below with more information to come shortly;

 

Westpac Summer League Series Launch

6 December, 5:30 - 6:30pm at Bold Park Aquatic

 

Round 1 –

North Zone – 4 January, hosted by North Coast Swim Club

Central Zone – 12 January

South Zone – 4 January

 

Round 2 –

North Zone – 25 January

South Zone – 25 January, hosted by Rockingham Swim Club

 

Round 3 –

North Zone – 16 February, hosted by Breakers Swim Club

Central Zone – 15 February, hosted by St Hilda’s Swim Club

South Zone – 16 February

 

Round 4 –

North Zone – 8 March

Central Zone – 8 March, hosted by Guildford Kalamunda Swim Club

South Zone – 7 March

 

With just over a month before the start of the season there is still plenty of time for both Clubs and athletes to get involved, and with Clubs from Rockingham, Armadale, Thornlie, Claremont, Mosman Park, South Perth, Guildford, Craigie, Scarborough and Inglewood there is sure to be a Round near you!

 

The Westpac Summer League is the perfect opportunity for a range of swimmers to get involved with Clubs from first-timers all the way to the senior Club members who want to enjoy racing.
