Westpac Summer League Set to Sizzle

02 August 2019

The Westpac Summer League is back this season, bigger and better than ever! Clubs, we need your support for its success. New features include:

  • Guest celebrity appearances
  • More giveaways
  • Carnival atmosphere
  • Official times
  • Photography at all rounds
  • Launch party

The aim of the Westpac Summer League Series is to increase Club Member engagement by placing emphasis on race participation and team point scoring. The Series consists of four Carnivals situated over dedicated Summer League weekends between January and March.

The Carnivals are designed to be exciting, and short in duration. Participants are encouraged to attend the event for the full duration with relays and individual events scheduled throughout.

We often hear from Clubs that “recreation” plays an integral role in their vision. We also know that there are swimmers currently only training two times a week and are not interested in attending an 8 hour long Meet. The Westpac Summer League Series is the perfect programme for these swimmers!

The Series is an ideal event for Clubs to engage General Members in a fun and enjoyable atmosphere. Clubs can participate to receive the opportunity to market the benefits of Club Membership and to provide swimmers the purpose to continue swimming. Results from the Series may also highlight to Clubs age groups to target for Membership growth.

Depending on the number of participating Clubs, the Westpac Summer League Series will be run in each of the Metropolitan Zones; North, South and Central. This is to align with the new competition format adopted by Swimming WA in Summer 2019/2020. It will also result in reduced travel for participating Clubs and therefore, easier access to competition for Members.

By participating in the Westpac Summer League Series, Clubs are guaranteed a summer Meet with official times, resulting in entry fee income and fundraising opportunities. To get involved, contact the Development Officer, Tiffany Ferguson-Blight (tiffany.blight@wa.swimming.org.au), or call (08) 9328 4599.
