Event Details

Supported by the Department of Sport and Recreation, Swimming WA has recently launched the Level Up Network, a community of practice for female coaches in or working towards the performance pathway.

In celebration of this launch, Swimming WA are excited to bring together the coaching community in an event to connect our coaches to learn together and from each other. We are pleased to host this networking opportunity and Q&A session with Dr Rachel Harris who will join us to reflect on her swimming journey, her motivations for leading the AIS Female Performance & Health Initiative (FPHI)  and her contribution to changing the "one size fits all" mindset of athlete engagement particularly for our female athletes and how this effects our coaches.

Hailing from WA, Dr Harris has represented Australia at both Commonwealth Games and Olympic as a swimmer. Dr Harris is the Project Lead for the FPHI and has also worked with the Australian Women’s Cricket team, Australian Rowing and Swimming teams, South Fremantle WAFL team and Fremantle Dockers AFLW in their inaugural season.

She was the AIS European Training Centre Doctor for two months in 2019 and was a member of the Australian Team Headquarters medical staff for the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games in 2018.

Although the Level Up Network is for our female performance coaches, we encourage all current Swimming WA coach members to attend this event.
