Plenty of Personal Best's recorded on day two of the SWA Short Course Qual Meet 1

The high level of competition continued in day two of the Swimming WA Short Course Qualifying Meet, as 355 swimmers took to the water.

Some of the best results for the day included;

Adrian Frederic (SLD, 12) had a strong weekend overall, starting day two with a 4.63 second PB (2:36.66) in the boys 200m Butterfly.

In the girls 100m Backstroke, Kaitlyn James registered a 4.15 second PB to claim the fastest time in the event (1:11.64).

Alexander Sillitoe (SLD, 12) and Owen Lane (WSSC, 11) clocked  8.98 and 7.79 second PB’s in the Boys 100m Backstroke, finishing in 1:18.91 and 1:25.09.

10-year-old Charlie Spencer (GKSC) knocked 1.47 seconds off his previous time over 50 metres Freestyle, (31.09).

The girls 200 IM saw Rockingham swimmers Karina Slattery (12) and Eva Waterhouse (11) register massive 15.40 and 29.22 second PB’s to touch in 2:48.17 and 3:16.14. Well done girls!

Harry Hall (BRW, 11) had a huge swim in the boys 200 IM and knocked 20.95 seconds off his seed time to finish in 3:06.62.

Well done to Lawson Kirby (WCA, 10) for achieving a 11.35 second PB in the boys 100m Freestyle (1:14.25).

In event 40, Luna Harrison (BRW, 11) swam a 3:13.44 to cut 18.61 seconds off her previous personal best in the 200 Breaststroke. Katie Otway (SSPW, 10) also showed a 12.31 second improvement (3:25.53). In the boys 200m Breaststroke Dion Van De Nadort (CAQ, 12) registered a new 9.08 second PB in a time of 3:27.74 and Jacob Ray (SLD, 11) touched in 3:54.29 (-13.36 PB).

Well done to Jordan Berryman (UWSC, 13) for claiming a 5.54 second PB in the 200m Freestyle.

In the Men's 100m Backstroke, Brynn Twyman (TUA, 17) and Harrison Farmer swam 1:07.47 (-7.90) and 1:07.83 (-7.60). Well done boys!

Eliza Hodder (TUA, 14) had a fantastic swim in the 400 IM, shaving 6.47 seconds off her seed time to claim the top overall time in the event (5:02.89).

UWA West-Coast Swimmer Winson Chen (21) swam the 400m Freestyle in 4:28.05, 15.31 seconds faster than his previous PB.

Riley Suckling (AQJ, 13) swam a 2:41.95 in the Mens 200 IM, an outstanding effort to improve his personal best by 17.98 seconds.

In the final event of the Meet, the Women's 800m Freestyle, Georgia Blaine (BRW, 13) had the largest improvement of 33.36 seconds (9:49.79).

Swimming WA would like to thank all Swimmers, Coaches, Parents, Officials and Volunteers for their efforts this weekend. It made for a very smooth sailing Meet and some incredible results.
