The wait is over! Swimming WA is thrilled to announce the commencement of registrations for the highly anticipated Open Water Swimming (OWS) Series 2023/24 season. Featuring nine rounds set against the backdrop of Western Australia's stunning beaches, the OWS Series promises an exciting experience for all.
The first round of the series is scheduled to kick off at the picturesque Leighton Beach on Saturday, 21 October 2023.
Ryan Porter, Swimming WA's Events & Partnerships Coordinator, expressed his enthusiasm for the upcoming season, stating, "We are so pleased that registrations are now open for this season, and I am incredibly excited to see the thrilling feats this season promises to deliver."
The OWS Series is designed to cater to swimmers of all levels, starting from age 9 and up, ensuring a safe and inclusive environment for all participants. Beginners can test their mettle in races spanning from 500m to 1.25km, while intermediate swimmers can embrace the challenge of the 2.5km and 5km events. For the elite, there's the daring 7.5km and 10km race options.
Last year's series witnessed approximately 400 swimmers at each round, and Swimming WA is eagerly anticipating the return of these dedicated swimmers, ready to conquer the waves once again.
