Sophie Row to step down as CEO of Swimming WA

Swimming WA bids farewell to CEO Sophie Row, who will be stepping down from her role effective from the beginning of July.

Darren Michael, President of Swimming WA commented that "Sophie’s decision to step down for personal reasons was not made lightly and her departure from Swimming WA is highly amicable. The Board wishes Sophie the very best of success in the future.

"Since being appointed CEO some three years ago, Sophie has made a significant contribution to swimming in Western Australia and has forged strong working relationships within the swimming community, government and private enterprise.

"Recent successes in open-water swimming for example, is testament to Sophie and her team’s hard work. Sophie also successfully led the organisation during the pandemic."

Ms Row will leave Swimming WA in a strong position, and the Board is highly appreciative of her dedication and efforts.

The Board have already commenced the search for a replacement CEO and is optimistic about finding a suitable candidate in the coming months. Swimming WA assures stakeholders of its continued commitment to the sport's growth and management.
